Under a Living Sky Book Launch

On Sunday, November 6, 2005, from 2-4 in the afternoon, we had the book launch at Audreys Books in Edmonton. In its 30 years, this store has been twice voted Book Store of the Year Award by the Canadian Booksellers Association. About one hundred people were present for the launch.

I read at 2:00 and by the time I left at 4:00, Audreys had sold 82 books, most of which I autographed. Then I signed another 20 for good measure. According to Sharon Budnarchuk, co-owner of Audreys, the sale of children's literature is not kept track of in terms of best seller lists, but in her opinion the sales numbers of Under a Living Sky that day place it firmly in best seller territory, and to tell anyone who asked that it is a best seller!
